The First Year Program is a National Rifle Association based program that is scheduled to meet the first and third and fifth Friday of the month from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, March 4th through June 3rd, 2016,  The Advanced Program (second year and up students) will convene April 1st, 2016.

The SHC’s Youth Rifle Marksmanship Program is run by NRA Certified Instructors volunteering their time to teach the participants safe rifle handling skills, shooting accuracy and reinforcing a positive and supportive learning environment.

The First Year Program involves rifle basics that include learning firearm safety, the parts and their function and basic marksmanship skills from the prone, sitting / kneeling and standing positions.

The program will involve book work initially.  Once that is complete, we’ll get to the range.
Please plan on being at each session with your child.

The Second Year Program is open to students who have completed our First Year Program.

We’ll be using the Civilian Marksmanship Program Sporter format.

This entails 3 position shooting at 50 and 25 yards with standardized targets.

There will be more focus on proficiency and individual improvement.

Please plan on being at each session with your child.
